Helen Southgate announced as inaugural APMA Chair

The Affiliate and Partner Marketing Association (APMA) has named Acceleration Partners’ Helen Southgate as its inaugural Chair. Working alongside APMA founder Kevin Edwards, Helen will lead the newly formed Governance Board. Intent.ly’s Dave Ayre will also take up the role of APMA Treasurer.

Helen is an industry veteran with network, brand and agency side experience. As Chief Strategy Officer at Acceleration Partners, she is responsible for delivering best-in-class strategy across more than global clients.

She has previously served twice as Chair of the IAB’s Affiliate Marketing Council and has an excellent grasp of the challenges and opportunities for the affiliate and partner marketing industries. In her role at The APMA, Helen will chair governance board meetings where decisions on future projects will be decided alongside the overall direction of the association.

Commenting on her appointment, Helen said, “The affiliate industry has needed a new, ambitious and productive trade body for some time, and the APMA is fulfilling that role.  I’m honoured and excited to Chair the Governance Board which is an incredibly talented and experienced group of people who will be responsible for ensuring the trade body is doing its best work for its members and the Affiliate Marketing Industry as a whole”.

Joining the Governance Board as treasurer, Dave Ayre brings more than two decades of experience to the Treasurer role having spent much of that time delivering successful online marketing campaigns across retail, finance and travel. Dave currently works at technology publisher intent.ly. Commenting on his appointment, Dave said “In my role as Chief Information Officer for intent.ly I am heavily involved in using data to drive decision-making and performance for our partners, and I’m looking forward to utilising these skills in this role to ensure the APMA is a guiding light for our amazing industry”.

The newly formed Governance Board
The APMA Governance Board held its first meeting last month with 14 representatives drawn from its membership. The Board will provide strategic leadership, establish policies and procedures for the effective management of the association and approve the annual budgets. All members of the board will also advocate for the APMA and the wider industry.

Commenting on Helen and Dave’s appointments, APMA founder, Kevin Edwards commented, “I’m thrilled Helen and Dave have accepted these roles as we look to put The APMA on the map and ramp up our output. They are both passionate advocates for our incredible industry and am looking forward to working with them over the coming months”.
